Genesis AI unveils ‘Eno’ to redefine general-purpose robotics

Genesis AI has unveiled Eno, its first general-purpose robot, taking a different approach from the growing trend of humanoid robotics by focusing on performance, adaptability and real-world utility rather than human-like appearance.

Backed by significant funding and supported by former Eric Schmidt, Genesis AI has designed Eno to operate across a variety of environments, including manufacturing facilities, logistics centres, laboratories, hospitals and hospitality settings.

Instead of replicating the human form, Eno features a wheeled base combined with an adjustable modular structure that can extend vertically during operation and fold into a compact size for easier storage and transport. The robot’s standout feature is its proprietary robotic hands, which closely mirror the size and dexterity of human hands, allowing it to interact with tools, equipment and workspaces already built for people.

At the core of Eno is GENE, Genesis AI’s robotics foundation model, which enables the robot to reason, learn and adapt to changing environments. The company says the system can understand context, retain operational memory and complete complex, multi-step tasks with a high degree of precision.

To improve transparency and trust between humans and machines, Genesis AI plans to offer an optional cognitive interface that displays the robot’s intent, decision-making process and operational status in real time.

The company envisions Eno handling a wide range of workflows, including production line support, logistics coordination and facility management. Initial deployments will focus on industrial sectors such as manufacturing, logistics and laboratory operations, with future expansion planned for healthcare, hospitality and consumer applications.

With growing demand for intelligent automation, Genesis AI believes Eno’s combination of advanced AI capabilities and human-level dexterity could offer a practical alternative to humanoid robots, focusing on workplace efficiency rather than human resemblance.
