Lumina Datamatics has completed the acquisition of TNQTech, making the Chennai-based publishing technology company its wholly owned subsidiary. The transaction concludes the acquisition process that began with the signing of a definitive agreement in December 2024 for an 80 per cent controlling stake, followed by the acquisition of the remaining 20 per cent stake.
The company said the acquisition strengthens its position in scholarly publishing by combining its global presence, technology capabilities and customer relationships with TNQTech’s expertise in publishing technology and AI-enabled solutions.
According to Lumina Datamatics, the combined organisation will support publishers across the entire content lifecycle, including manuscript submission, peer review, editorial workflows, production, digital publishing, accessibility, analytics and AI-powered content enrichment.
The acquisition is expected to accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency and enhance the delivery of technology-driven publishing solutions to customers worldwide. The combined business will also offer an expanded portfolio of intelligent publishing platforms, automation capabilities and domain expertise.
Commenting on the acquisition, Sameer Kanodia, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Lumina Datamatics and TNQTech, said the completion of the transaction marks a significant milestone for the company. He said the combined organisation brings together domain expertise and AI technologies to support publishers, while creating opportunities to drive innovation, expand its global presence and enhance value for customers.
Mariam Ram, Founder and Director, TNQTech, said joining Lumina Datamatics aligns with the company’s long-term vision. She added that TNQTech’s technology, people and products would benefit from Lumina Datamatics’ scale and global reach while continuing to advance innovation and growth.
