Qualys has introduced Real-Time Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), a new capability integrated into its Enterprise TruRisk Platform that continuously monitors cloud environments, detects changes as they occur and provides contextual risk insights with remediation guidance.
As organisations operate increasingly complex multi-cloud and hybrid environments across AWS, Azure and Google Cloud, infrastructure changes can occur rapidly through new resource deployments, permission updates and workload scaling. Traditional CSPM approaches that depend on periodic scans can leave a gap between the emergence of a security issue and its detection.
Qualys Real-Time CSPM is designed to close this gap by continuously assessing cloud environments and identifying posture changes as they happen. The capability evaluates findings in context by correlating cloud posture information with vulnerabilities, asset criticality and exploitability, helping security teams focus on risks that require immediate attention.
The platform can detect changes such as excessive IAM permissions, exposed S3 buckets and Kubernetes configuration drift in real time. It also provides guided remediation workflows that integrate with Jira and ServiceNow, while supporting automated fixes aligned with security and compliance frameworks including NIST, CIS Benchmarks and PCI-DSS.
The solution provides multi-cloud coverage across more than 200 cloud services, including serverless functions and containers, without requiring agents. It also combines cloud posture findings with vulnerability information, endpoint visibility and compliance controls to create a prioritised view of remediation requirements.
Shrikant Dhanawade, Director of Product Management at Qualys, said real-time visibility is increasingly important as cloud environments and threats change rapidly. He added that Qualys’ approach brings risk quantification, immediate remediation and AI-driven workflows together to create a more responsive cloud security process.
While the new capability is designed for continuous monitoring and immediate intervention, Qualys said organisations can continue using scheduled scans where periodic assessments and reporting are required.
