Netcore Unbxd has announced the launch of Debugger Agent, a new AI-powered capability within the Unbxd platform designed to improve visibility into e-commerce search performance and ranking behaviour.
Integrated directly into the platform’s Search Preview interface, the Debugger Agent enables merchandisers and e-commerce teams to understand why certain products rank higher in search results or why some products fail to appear altogether. The feature delivers real-time explanations of ranking logic, retrieval conditions, eligibility rules, and merchandising influences in plain language.
According to Netcore Unbxd, the launch addresses a growing challenge for ecommerce and digital commerce teams as search systems become increasingly AI-driven and operationally complex.
Modern ecommerce search systems rely on multiple factors including behavioural signals, contextual relevance, ranking models, merchandising rules, and inventory priorities to improve discovery and personalisation. However, these AI-powered systems can often create limited visibility into how search and ranking decisions are made.
The Debugger Agent has been developed to help brands reduce the time required to identify relevance issues, improve ranking strategies, and resolve merchandising conflicts that may impact customer experience and conversions.
Commenting on the launch, Ravi Shankar Mishra, Product and Conversational Director, Netcore Unbxd, said, “AI-powered discovery systems cannot operate as black boxes.”
He further added, “The future of ecommerce search requires a glass-box approach where ranking signals, scoring logic, merchandising influences, and relevance decisions are transparent and explainable. As search infrastructure becomes more autonomous, merchandisers and digital commerce teams need visibility into why products rank, disappear, or underperform so they can maintain both customer relevance and business control.”
Netcore Unbxd stated that the launch reflects a broader industry shift where explainability and operational intelligence are becoming increasingly important alongside automation in ecommerce technology.
The company added that enterprise ecommerce teams are now seeking greater visibility into ranking decisions, optimisation gaps, and the signals driving product discovery as AI-powered search systems continue evolving through adaptive merchandising, real-time personalisation, and autonomous re-ranking.
With the introduction of Debugger Agent, Netcore Unbxd said it aims to strengthen its focus on explainable AI and ensure search systems remain transparent, controllable, and aligned with business objectives.
