DE-CIX India has announced the expansion of its interconnection services to Equinix MB3, Equinix’s fourth International Business Exchange (IBX) data centre in Mumbai. The move marks a strategic step in strengthening India’s digital infrastructure by providing broader access to carrier-neutral interconnection services across one of the country’s most important connectivity hubs.
With its presence now extended to Equinix MB3, DE-CIX India will enable enterprises, internet service providers, cloud service providers, OTT platforms, content delivery networks, fintech firms, and other digital businesses operating within the facility to access its peering ecosystem, cloud connectivity solutions, and low-latency interconnection services.
As Mumbai continues to strengthen its position as a major digital traffic and cloud connectivity hub, the deployment at Equinix’s latest AI-ready facility is expected to improve network performance, reduce latency, simplify cloud access, and support scalable digital infrastructure growth for businesses operating in the region.
Commenting on the development, Sudhir Kunder, Chief Business Officer, DE-CIX India, said, “Mumbai continues to be the epicenter of India’s digital traffic growth, cloud adoption, and enterprise network transformation. As digital businesses increasingly seek infrastructure environments that can deliver scalability, resilience, and ultra-low latency, it becomes imperative for DE-CIX India to be present at every strategic connectivity hub within the city. Our deployment at Equinix MB3 is a significant step in that direction, enabling customers within this new facility to instantly tap into a rich, carrier-neutral interconnection ecosystem that enhances performance, accelerates cloud access, and simplifies network expansion.”
Through its presence across Equinix MB1, MB2, and now MB3, DE-CIX India will offer access to its portfolio of services, including Internet Exchange peering, DirectCLOUD connectivity, enterprise interconnection services, cloud on-ramp capabilities, and Data Center Interconnection solutions. The company stated that customers at MB3 will be able to optimise traffic exchange, improve application performance, and strengthen business continuity through its digital ecosystem.
Kunder further added, “Today, the true value of a data center is no longer measured only by the racks it houses, but by the quality of digital ecosystems it connects to. With DE-CIX India now available inside MB3, customers can move beyond simple colocation and unlock direct peering, cloud interconnection, enterprise-grade routing efficiencies, and seamless access to a larger digital marketplace. This is exactly the kind of infrastructure readiness that modern enterprises, ISPs, and content networks require to grow faster and operate smarter.”
The expansion aligns with DE-CIX India’s broader growth strategy of strengthening its presence across leading data centre environments and bringing advanced interconnection capabilities closer to businesses hosting and managing mission-critical digital workloads.
