Qlik has announced the general availability of its agentic analytics experience within Qlik Cloud, alongside the launch of the Qlik Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables third-party AI assistants, including Claude by Anthropic, to securely access Qlik’s analytics engine and governed data products.
The agentic experience is delivered through Qlik Answers as a unified conversational interface. It combines Qlik’s analytics engine, curated enterprise content, and governed data products with explainable AI reasoning, designed for production-grade enterprise deployments where transparency, context and auditability are critical.
According to the company, enterprises are increasingly shifting from AI proofs of concept to full-scale deployments, requiring systems that can operate across structured analytics and unstructured data while preserving business logic and ensuring traceable decision-making.
Within Qlik Cloud, the agentic experience introduces four core capabilities. Qlik Answers converts natural language queries into governed, explainable insights powered by the Qlik Analytics Engine and grounded in curated documents with citations. Discovery Agent continuously monitors key metrics to detect anomalies and material shifts. Data Products for Analytics provide curated, governed datasets with stewardship and quality indicators. The newly launched MCP server extends Qlik’s capabilities at the engine, tool and agent levels, allowing external assistants to securely generate insights using Qlik’s APIs.
Mike Capone, CEO, Qlik, said enterprise AI in 2026 must be auditable, governed and capable of functioning within real operational workflows amid tightening regulations and cost pressures. He noted that combining Qlik’s analytics engine with trusted data products and cited knowledge enables faster decisions backed by defensible controls.
Industry analysts echoed the need for governed context and explainability in enterprise AI. Michael Leone, Practice Director and Principal Analytics and AI Analyst at Omdia, said enterprises require trusted data directly connected to workflows with full auditability, adding that Qlik’s integration of its analytics engine with MCP establishes an intelligence layer for agents operating across ecosystems.
Qlik plans to expand its agentic strategy further, with additional agents across data pipelines, data quality and stewardship, as well as broader support for AI tools and assistants through MCP during the year.
The company said Qlik Answers agentic enhancements and the Qlik MCP server are generally available in Qlik Cloud, while Discovery Agent and Data Products for Analytics will roll out shortly. Customers can also procure Qlik solutions through the AWS Marketplace under existing AWS agreements.
Qlik, used by 75 per cent of the Fortune 500, focuses on delivering trusted data products, a powerful analytics engine and AI agents to help enterprises scale AI responsibly while maintaining governance and operational control.
