Ping Identity has announced the launch of its India data centre capability, marking another step in the company’s long-term investment in the country. Hosted in Google Cloud’s Mumbai region, the new deployment enables enterprises to host supported identity workloads locally while supporting data residency preferences and governance requirements.
According to the company, the India data centre is designed to help organisations reduce application latency, strengthen digital identity governance and navigate India’s evolving privacy and regulatory landscape.
Commenting on the launch, Jasie Fon, Regional Vice President, Asia, Ping Identity, said India is one of the world’s fastest-growing digital economies, where data residency and identity governance have become increasingly important. He added that the local infrastructure will help organisations innovate with confidence as AI becomes more central to business operations.
Ping Identity said the growing adoption of artificial intelligence is increasing the need for trusted identity management, enabling enterprises to control who can access systems, what AI agents are authorised to do and how interactions are governed.
The company said the India deployment will support organisations by enabling local hosting of supported identity workloads, strengthening privacy-by-design, consent management, access controls and auditability, improving application performance through lower latency, accelerating cloud identity adoption and supporting secure identity for AI applications and AI agents.
Ping Identity also highlighted that its Runtime Identity platform continuously verifies identity, context and intent across digital interactions, helping enterprises manage customers, employees, partners and AI agents while supporting evolving privacy expectations and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
The new data centre builds on Ping Identity’s existing presence in India, where the company has an engineering and development centre in Bengaluru with around 300 employees supporting global product innovation, engineering and customer success.
