IBM and Google Cloud have announced a strategic partnership to help organisations accelerate the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) and modernise critical business systems. As part of the collaboration, IBM has launched a dedicated Google Cloud Practice that combines its consulting expertise and AI-powered delivery platform, IBM Consulting Advantage, with Google Cloud’s Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform.
The new practice brings together thousands of Google Cloud-certified IBM consultants and engineers to support enterprises in scaling AI initiatives, modernising legacy infrastructure, and managing complex hybrid cloud environments. The partnership is expected to create a multi-billion-dollar opportunity for both companies.
The collaboration will enable IBM consultants to design, deploy, and govern enterprise-grade AI agents on Google Cloud using pre-built assets, reusable frameworks, and proven transformation methodologies. The companies have already worked together on large-scale transformation projects, including a major modernisation programme for Airbus involving more than 100 critical business systems.

Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Ecosystem, Google Cloud, said the partnership would help organisations move beyond AI pilots and deploy production-grade AI agents at scale across their cloud environments.
IBM is also developing a portfolio of industry-specific AI agents optimised for Gemini Enterprise. These agents will support sectors including banking, government, retail, telecommunications, energy, insurance, security, and life sciences by automating workflows, improving decision-making, and enhancing operational efficiency.
