Cloudflare has expanded its Agent Cloud platform, introducing new infrastructure and tools to help developers build, deploy, and scale autonomous AI agents for production environments.
As software development shifts toward autonomous agents capable of reasoning and executing multi-step tasks, Cloudflare aims to address key challenges around scalability, cost, and security. The enhanced Agent Cloud is designed to move AI agents from experimental setups to enterprise-grade deployments across its global network.
“The way people build software is fundamentally changing. We are entering a world where agents are the ones writing and executing code,” said Matthew Prince, Co-founder and CEO, Cloudflare.
He added, “But agents need a home that is secure by default, scales to millions instantly, and persists across long-running tasks. We’ve spent nine years building the foundation for this with Cloudflare Workers. Today, we are making Cloudflare the definitive platform for the agentic web.”
“Cloud agents are quickly becoming a foundational building block for how work gets done, and with Cloudflare, we’re making it dramatically easier for developers to deploy production-ready agents powered by GPT-5.4 and Codex to run real enterprise workloads at scale,” said Rohan Varma, Product, Codex, OpenAI.
The expanded platform introduces several new capabilities, including Dynamic Workers for efficient and cost-effective execution, Artifacts for Git-compatible storage, and general availability of Sandboxes that provide persistent Linux environments for complex tasks. Additionally, the “Think” framework enables long-running, multi-step agent workflows, addressing limitations of short-lived AI processes.
Cloudflare has also enhanced its unified AI platform, allowing developers to seamlessly switch between multiple AI models, including proprietary and open-source options, without complex\ integrations.
These advancements position Cloudflare to support the next generation of AI-driven applications, where autonomous agents play a central role in software development and enterprise operations.
