Oracle with Google Cloud expands multicloud database services to India

Oracle has announced the availability of Oracle Database@Google Cloud in India, expanding access to its multicloud database services for customers operating in regulated and data-sensitive industries. The service is now available in the Asia-South 1 (Mumbai) Google Cloud region.

With this launch, customers in India can access Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and deployed within Google Cloud regions. The availability allows organisations to keep their data in-country while meeting sovereignty, compliance and regulatory requirements.

Oracle Database@Google Cloud enables customers to combine enterprise data stored in Oracle databases with Google Cloud’s analytics and AI services. This integration supports advanced analytics and AI-driven insights using tools such as BigQuery, Google Vertex AI and Google’s Gemini models, while allowing customers to modernise mission-critical Oracle workloads using Google Cloud services.

The offering also allows Google Cloud and Oracle partners to resell Oracle Database@Google Cloud through the Google Cloud Marketplace. Customers can procure the service through trusted partners, simplify contracting and use existing Google Cloud commitments as part of the purchasing process.

“As enterprises in India increasingly adopt multicloud strategies, Oracle Database@Google Cloud provides the flexibility, performance, scale and security they need,” said Shailender Kumar, Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director, Oracle India.

He added that customers can now integrate Oracle AI Database capabilities with Google Cloud’s AI and analytics tools to build new AI applications and accelerate innovation.

Sashi Sreedharan, Managing Director, Google Cloud India, said the collaboration combines Google Cloud’s AI and analytics capabilities with Oracle’s database services to support IT modernisation and application migration in a multicloud environment.

The services available in India include Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure, which supports demanding workloads across AI, analytics and online transaction processing, and Oracle Autonomous AI Database, a fully managed platform that automates database administration using AI and machine learning.

Customers can also access Oracle Autonomous AI Lakehouse, which supports enterprise-wide analytics and AI workloads, and Oracle AI Database 26ai, which introduces features such as AI Vector Search and JSON Relational Duality Views to simplify AI-driven application development. Additionally, Oracle Database Zero Data Loss Autonomous Recovery Service provides real-time data protection and recovery capabilities across OCI and Google Cloud regions.

Oracle has also launched its Oracle Database@Google Cloud Partner Program in India. The programme enables eligible partners from both the Google Cloud Partner Advantage programme and Oracle PartnerNetwork to resell the service via private offers on the Google Cloud Marketplace and integrate it into customer solutions.

Industry partners said the collaboration provides Indian enterprises with a flexible multicloud path that helps modernise applications, accelerate AI adoption and maximise the value of existing technology investments.
