GoTrust launches certified privacy professional programme to build hands-on privacy expertise

GoTrust has launched the GoTrust Certified Privacy Professional (GCPP) Programme, a practitioner-focused certification aimed at helping professionals translate privacy regulations into practical processes, controls and governance practices.

The India-first programme combines privacy and data protection concepts with hands-on learning through the GoTrust platform. It comprises nine expert-led sessions, with each session aligned to a specific product module and featuring live platform demonstrations followed by practical exercises.

Participants will work on tasks including setting up cookie consent mechanisms, conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), managing data subject requests, carrying out multi-cloud data discovery, creating Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and establishing third-party vendor assessment processes.

The curriculum covers cookie consent and unified consent management, privacy automation, DSR automation, data discovery and classification, DPDP fundamentals, AI governance, DSPM fundamentals, DLP fundamentals and third-party risk management. These areas span six broader capability pillars covering consent and preference management, privacy automation, data security, regulatory compliance, AI governance and third-party risk.

GoTrust said the programme is intended for professionals across privacy, compliance, legal, IT, security, cloud, AI, marketing, procurement and audit functions. While the curriculum places the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) at its centre, it also covers global frameworks and regulations including GDPR, CPRA, UAE PDPL, the EU AI Act, and relevant ISO and NIST frameworks.

Professionals who complete all nine sessions and clear the final assessment will receive the GCPP credential. The programme is positioned as GoTrust’s highest certification within its ecosystem and focuses on demonstrating practical proficiency across its privacy, security, compliance and governance capabilities.

Himanshu Gautam, Founder and CEO, GoTrust, said the programme is intended to address the growing need for professionals who can connect regulatory requirements with technology, security and business operations. He added that the initiative aims to help organisations move from compliance intent towards measurable implementation.

GoTrust clarified that GCPP is a company-issued professional credential and is not government-approved or externally accredited. Its focus is on hands-on proficiency with the GoTrust platform and practical understanding of privacy and data protection frameworks.

The certification comes as organisations increasingly look for privacy professionals who can operationalise regulatory requirements through processes, technology controls and governance frameworks rather than relying solely on theoretical knowledge.
