Procol has been recognised by Everest Group in its Innovation Watch: AI-Powered Spend Intelligence 2026 assessment, emerging as the only Indian vendor among 16 global providers evaluated in the report.
The assessment positions Procol as an ‘Influencer’ and examines the evolution of procurement from traditional spend reporting towards continuous, AI-enabled intelligence. The report evaluates providers based on factors including client scale, breadth of AI use cases, partnerships and investment.
Everest Group identifies a shift towards systems that combine spend, supplier, contract, category, pricing and risk information to support more contextual and forward-looking procurement decisions. While capabilities such as data cleansing, supplier normalisation, spend classification, conversational analytics and anomaly detection have become relatively established, predictive intelligence, scenario modelling, workflow orchestration and autonomous action initiation remain areas with further scope for development.
The report also highlights autonomy as an emerging frontier for spend intelligence, with AI expected to increasingly monitor procurement data, recommend actions and initiate defined tasks under appropriate human oversight and approval mechanisms.
Gaurav Baheti, Founder and CEO, Procol, said the more difficult challenge for spend intelligence platforms is connecting insights with the actions they should trigger. He highlighted clean data, integration with existing enterprise systems and trusted governance as key requirements for enabling greater automation.
Procol’s Spend Analytics Agent converts spend data into real-time insights and benchmarks, while its AI Control Tower provides procurement and finance teams with conversational access to spend, supplier and invoice information across the source-to-pay cycle.
The platform currently manages more than US$30 billion in spend across over 200 enterprises in more than 10 countries and operates alongside existing enterprise resource planning systems, including SAP and Oracle.
Founded in 2018, Procol operates as an agentic AI-powered procurement platform covering the source-to-pay lifecycle. Its platform brings procurement workflows together across intake, sourcing, supplier management and payments, with embedded AI capabilities designed to automate sourcing and strengthen compliance and governance.
The recognition comes as enterprises increasingly look towards AI-driven procurement systems that can move beyond historical analysis and support faster, more contextual and increasingly automated decision-making.
