FreJun releases Teler for AI-powered voice applications

FreJun has announced the launch of Teler, a programmable voice platform designed to enable software applications to make and receive phone calls, stream live conversations to AI systems in real time and manage call flows through APIs, webhooks and SDKs.

Built as a Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS), Teler is designed for organisations developing and deploying AI-powered voice applications across sectors including BFSI, healthcare, retail, logistics, education and customer service.

As enterprises increasingly adopt AI-powered voice agents for customer support, sales, collections and appointment scheduling, the need for reliable telephony infrastructure is growing. Teler is designed to address this requirement by providing programmable voice infrastructure that manages carrier connectivity, live audio streaming, call routing and real-time call control, allowing developers to focus on building AI applications without managing the underlying communications stack.

Through its APIs, Teler enables developers to build and deploy AI-powered voice applications while managing call connectivity and media streaming. During a call, the platform can stream live conversations to an AI application, enabling the system to respond to customers, play information, transfer calls to human agents or record conversations. Recordings and event logs can also be accessed through APIs after calls for analytics, compliance and workflow automation.

Subhash Kalluri, Founder and CEO, FreJun, said building an effective AI model is only part of the challenge, while ensuring that it works reliably over real phone networks is critical for real-world deployment. He added that Teler was developed to simplify voice application deployment through enterprise-grade infrastructure built in India and designed for global scale.

Nikhilesh Thothara, CTO, FreJun, said reliable voice applications require the management of telecom networks, live media, call orchestration and event handling at scale. He added that Teler packages these capabilities into a developer-focused platform, allowing engineering teams to integrate voice capabilities without building or maintaining the underlying communications infrastructure.

Teler follows an API-first architecture and is model-agnostic, enabling businesses to integrate their preferred Large Language Models, Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech providers. The platform supports AI technologies including OpenAI, Gemini, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, VAPI and Devnagri, along with custom models.

Early users including R Systems, Vertivox and Voizly are already using Teler for AI-driven voice applications and enterprise communication workflows.

Aniruddh Kukadiya, Founder and CEO, Voizly, said the company uses Teler for its business communication and has found the platform reliable, with responsive support when assistance is required.

Teler is initially available across India and the Middle East, with expansion into additional global markets planned. With the launch, FreJun is expanding beyond cloud calling to provide programmable communications infrastructure for AI-enabled voice applications.
