Brihaspathi Technologies Limited Secures ₹106 Crore MSRTCSurveillance Project with 6,300 Cameras to Be Installed at Bus Stops

Brihaspathi Technologies Limited is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a ₹106 crore project by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to install 6,300 surveillance cameras across various bus stops throughout the state.

The large-scale project aims to transform passenger security and operational monitoring across hundreds of MSRTC depots, workshops, and bus stations, making it one of the most ambitious digital surveillance rollouts in India’s public transport sector.

Strengthening Safety and Efficiency

The surveillance system will integrate thousands of high-definition IP cameras, edge devices, and analytics-enabled servers, feeding real-time data into a centralised ICCC. The command centre will enable 24×7 monitoring of passenger areas, vehicle depots, and critical infrastructure — helping detect security incidents, streamline fleet management, and ensure better compliance with safety protocols. The project scope includes installing high-definition CCTV surveillance systems at 658 bus stands and stations, and monitoring an estimated fleet size of 15,000 buses

The ICCC will feature a state-of-the-art video wall, operator consoles, and an enterprise-grade Video Management System (VMS), backed by five years of warranty and comprehensive maintenance. Predictive and preventive servicing will be implemented to ensure uptime and reliability across the network.

Data-Driven Oversight for Public Mobility

Beyond surveillance, the digital command centre is designed to enhance decision-making through data analytics and system integration, giving authorities a unified view of operations across the state’s transport ecosystem. It is expected to improve incident response times, reduce vandalism, and increase transparency in on-ground operations.

Industry experts say the deployment reflects the growing trend of smart mobility and digital governance investments by public transport authorities, aligning with India’s broader “Safe City” and “Digital Bharat” initiatives.

Strategic Leap in Public Tech Infrastructure

Initiative marks a strategic milestone for both Maharashtra’s public transport modernisation efforts and India’s emerging surveillance tech ecosystem. Mr Rajasekhar Papolu, MD of Brihaspathi Technologies, quoted “Being selected for this project reinforces our team’s ability to meet large-scale security needs. We are proud to contribute to safer public spaces and transport systems in Maharashtra through reliable surveillance solutions.”
